Berkey, Jackson Anniversary Carols, including these titles with harp:
    God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
Still, Still Night (Silent Night) (in the key of Db, no accidentals, a full size lever harp tuned for 5bs would work)
Jesu, Son Most Sweet and Dear (in the key of Eb, works for a full size lever harp and advanced player with many, not too quick lever changes) (skip the 7 bar intro when performed with organ instead of choir)
    Come, Thou Long-expected Jesus
Il est né le divine enfant
See www.berkey.com for full descriptions. This collection forms a service of Lessons and Carols with no additional music, using chorus, harp, optional percussion and optional organ. All the carols are SATB,  a few TTBB and 2  SSA.Please note, your harpist really needs the harp part. It's impossible for the harpist to get through these from the choral score, there's just too many page turns. The harp part is worth the money and includes the percussion parts. I understand that getting them isn't quick. No place seems to have them in stock so order early. Harpists should own this, just as they own a copy of the harp part for the Ceremony of Carols. This piece is far more approachable for most congregations than the Britten.

What's wonderful about the Anniversary Carols is the flexibility of the work. There are organ solos of most of the movements, harp solos for two of the choral movements as well as a harp solo interlude. Some have been arranged for handbells too. The choir does not need to learn all nine carols to present this collection as a set. Some movments  can be covered by harp solo, some by organ solo, some by handbells and two work for harp and organ together.

Berkey, Jackson  First Noel
mixed chorus and harp and oboe
This is truly really delightful. The best way to search Berkey's site is to click on SDG press, then in the sidebar, find Index and click on that. You'll see titles in alphabetical order. There are harp and chorus things sprinkled throughout his catalog and he's rare among composers that don't play harp in that he writes idiomatically. You can hear snippets on the website and he'll send you a limited number of perusal scores. If you contact him, please let him know that I referred you.

Berkey, Jackson The Tie that Binds our Hearts (Bless'd be the Tie that Binds)

Britten, Benjamin Ceremony of Carols
Insert for Britten's "There is No Rose", from Ceremony of Carols: Why Britten chose to put the harp notation in small notes and the piano in large is a mystery. This insert makes it easier to read this in poor light, so common in many churches.

Carey, Paul A Cradle Song   SA
Sadly, no harp part exists. I had to make my own to get through it as the page turns are impossible. Once that's done it's a nice piece. You can hear it and see a sample page on Carey's website. Carey confirms that he is a former harpist.

Chenette, Jonathan    Dear Harp of My Country
    SSA, piano or harp
    Boosey and Hawkes   ISMN 9790051471713
Jonathan's wife (Jeanette) is a harpist and this composition reflects his understanding of harp. It's a lovely work for voices, harpist and audience. Jonathan is now at Vassar. He's got some other choral/harp works that are not listed on the internet that are worth tracking down.

Chilcott, Bob  Jesus, Jesus, Rest Your Head

SATB, harp or handbells or keyboard

Childs, Edwin    My Song is Love Unknown

This is a Lenten favorite in my home church. Hopefully the publisher will offer a harp part in the future (I'm working on this project now). Ordering info and mp3 are on the composer's web site.

    2005 Santa Barbara Publishing, Inc.
Note: the harp part includes cello cues only from the opening solo line followed by nothing more than the soprano line which is not always the first voice to enter. It helps to have a copy of the full score to study. Pedals are marked but not always in appropriate places.

Faure, Gabriel  Cantique de Jean Racine
This works for harp and chorus. Beware that the Rutter arrangement of this is different from Faure's version. The harmonies are not the same and so your harpist must know which version you are doing to be properly prepared. (Rutter's version of Faure's Requiem is harmonically the same as the original) Marilyn Marzuki's arrangement of the accompaniment for harp is brilliantly done. Please, don't double the harp with piano. The parts are NOT the same and it gets very muddy as the chords become far too thick.  A harp can play as loudly as piano and will balance just fine by itself.

Note: If you had an older edition there are  wrong notes in the harp part. In m. 52 and m. 56 there are G flats that are naturals in the full score. This older edition harp part is missing two notations that the harpist needs:  in m. 23 and m. 58 the part should include the instruction: "slowing slightly" and in m. 25 and m. 60 it should read "a tempo".  The new edition of the harp part corrects these errata. Knowing this before the first rehearsal is important. This is not something you should expect your harpist to sight read. The new edition of the harp part does not include the tempo marking.

This is a satisfying arrangement but the pattern used is relentlessly repeated which becomes taxing as it lasts the entire 3 min. of the piece. It's not a difficult pattern for a pianist, but on harp it doesn't fit the hand as well (especially small hands). Practicing/rehearsing needs to be carefully planned with frequent breaks.
